Kippilaw House
We’re delighted to welcome Kippilaw House as our newest Borders wedding venue. It’s an elegant mansion in private woodlands just outside Melrose in the central Borders, and makes a wonderful setting for a romantic house party wedding.
Kippilaw has been lovingly restored and restyled to give it a warm, arty feel. The mix of hand-picked vintage furnishings and modern comforts means you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you walk in the door.

The grand staircase has a touch of drama for making an entrance, and there’s a gorgeous ballroom with a cupola and Victorian bar, leading onto a covered veranda and garden – perfect for a ceilidh into the small hours!
It’s a flexible venue, with space for a wedding party of up to 200 guests, or even more with a marquee on the lawn. The large ballroom can seat 120 for dining, while the dining room has an open fire, wooden panels and a grand piano, and can seat up to 55 guests.
The house sleeps up to 30 guests in 12 bedrooms, and there are nine beautifully tiled bathrooms. Ceremonies can be held in the Rouge Drawing Room, with its beautiful Chinoise décor, or outside in the pretty gardens.
As with all Get Knotted venues, we work in-house with the fabulous Kippilaw team, at no extra cost to you. Lil Gogan also offers self-catering packages – though you might want to check out the delicious sample menus first!
