Hoscote House is a Victorian shooting lodge set in a 450-acre estate with a beautiful walled garden, resident red squirrels and open views out across the Borthwick Valley, just eight miles from the market town of Hawick. It’s one of only a handful of venues in the country with a 5-star exclusive use rating from Visit Scotland, and is licensed for civil ceremonies.

Hoscote can sleep up to 40 guests, with room for 18-20 at the main house, and another 20 in four pretty cottages close by in the grounds. The outstanding facilities include a sauna, fitness room, outdoor hot tub, wine store, and health and beauty treatments on request. Rather than feeling like a ‘grand’ country house, wedding guests enjoy the informal and relaxed atmosphere of a home from home.
If you’re planning a larger gathering, Hoscote can accommodate up to 200 guests with a wedding marquee on the south lawn, and we can suggest lots of excellent local hotels and B&Bs for visitors to the area.
The décor is a mix of traditional features and contemporary comfort, for an elegant, relaxed atmosphere. Maureen Hanmer and her staff keep everything immaculate, and Hoscote has a first-class caterer – so everyone’s on the doorstep for a perfect, private celebration.
Hoscote House also offers great-value winter and summer packages, and you don’t pay extra for Get Knotted services, because we work in-house.
