Abbotsford House

This lovely couple had a wonderful east-meets-west fusion wedding, with guests arriving from China and the US as well as the UK. The marriage ceremony took place at Abbotsford House, the magnificent home of the novelist Sir Walter Scott.

The stunning library with its views onto the River Tweed was an atmospheric and unusual setting, with its oak panelling making a great foil for the bride’s elegant dress and flowers. The reception was held in a beautiful marquee from Best Intent Marquees in the fabulous grounds, with wonderful catering from Billy Hamilton and the team from award winning inn, The Buccleuch Arms, who had known the couple from years gone by.

The couple chose a lovely pink/purple palette, and Get Knotted designed beautiful flowers using vibrant glorioso lilies, roses, orchids, hydrangeas and papyrus grass. The table centrepieces looked fantastic colourful hanging lanterns adorned the marquee ceiling, giving a very chic and festive look.

Guests stayed in the stylish boutique-style rooms at the Buccleuch Arms and the Hope Scott wing at Abbotsford House.
