Aikwood Tower

Scottish castle weddings in the Borders are exceptionally beautiful in the autumn, when the countryside looks at its very best in glorious russets and golds. This couple chose to get married at Aikwood Tower, a romantic Borders castle which is just the right size for an intimate house party wedding with a small group of friends and family.

For this wedding, the couple and close family stayed in the stylish boutique accommodation at Aikwood Tower, while other guests stayed at nearby accommodation in the beautiful Ettrick Valley.

Get Knotted helped to plan the wedding, and also designed the flowers and lighting to create an elegant atmosphere that worked beautifully with the bride’s gorgeous lace dress and contemporary country theme. Crisp white tablecloths and crystal candlesticks complemented the colourful pinks and oranges in the table arrangements and bridal bouquet. The wedding flowers also included stunning celosia, with its wonderful texture and rich colours.

Other striking touches included the bride’s fabulous blue shoes, and special guest Belle, the barn owl, who swept in to deliver the ring, for a moment of pure drama and romance!
