Dryburgh Abbey
This colourful wedding was great fun! Robert is an asparagus farmer, and he and Kirsty wanted to make the best of their background with a lively, individual theme. Their marriage ceremony took place against the stunning backdrop of Dryburgh Abbey near Melrose, and a tractor was organised to take them from the Abbey to the stylish boutique hotel, The Townhouse in Melrose where they were staying. The tractor was glammed up for the day with pretty ribbons, and we also made a big colourful heart for the front.
Get Knotted decorated the Abbey chapterhouse with colourful balloons, flowers and candles, in a gloriously happy palette of brilliant pinks, reds and yellows, and supplied a red carpet for Kirsty’s entrance. Her daughter carried a mini bouquet, and the bridal bouquet included some beautiful roses, carnations and freesia. Bundles of home-grown asparagus tied with ribbon took centre-stage on the registration table.
We loved having the chance to work with Rob and Kirsty and showcase the wonderful venues and produce in the Scottish Borders.
